Flooring Installation in Union County, NJ

Flooring installation across Union County towns.

Union County covers a wide span of housing, from the dense older stock in Elizabeth through the established suburban neighbourhoods of Westfield, Cranford and Summit. The older the housing, the more likely there is a floor worth saving underneath whatever is currently down.

What's included

Why Union County homeowners choose us

Family-run since 2004. We assess what is under your existing floor before quoting, we tell you when refinishing beats replacing even though replacing is the larger job, and you get a written price before any work begins.

What flooring costs in Union County

Installed prices are the same across our service area: carpet $3 to $8, laminate $4 to $8, luxury vinyl plank $5 to $11, solid hardwood $8 to $15, engineered hardwood $10 to $18 and tile $10 to $25 per square foot. A 300 square foot room in LVP therefore lands roughly between $1,500 and $3,300. Subfloor levelling is quoted separately once we can see the room.

Westfield, Cranford and Summit

These established neighbourhoods have a high proportion of pre-war and mid-century homes with original hardwood on the main levels. In our experience a majority of those floors are refinishable, and a good number of homeowners who call asking for a quote on new hardwood end up refinishing instead for roughly half the cost. We measure the wood above the tongue before advising.

Basements and lower levels

Where a lower level sits on slab, solid hardwood is not an option regardless of what the room looks like. We test slab moisture and specify luxury vinyl plank or engineered hardwood over an appropriate vapour barrier. This is the single most common mistake we are called in to correct.

Matching floors across a renovation

Extensions and renovations frequently leave a house with two or three different floors meeting at awkward points. Sometimes the right answer is matching and sometimes it is a deliberate transition at a doorway, which almost always looks better than a near-miss on colour. Bring us a sample plank and we will tell you honestly which is achievable.

Frequently asked questions

Which Union County towns do you serve?

Elizabeth, Westfield, Cranford, Summit and the surrounding towns. Call if you are unsure whether you fall inside our service area.

Can you match my existing hardwood?

Sometimes. Species and stain can usually be matched closely on a common timber like red oak; exact matches on discontinued or unusual products are harder. Where a match is not realistic we will say so and suggest a transition instead.

How long does a flooring project take?

Most single rooms are completed in one day and whole-floor projects run one to three days depending on material and subfloor preparation. Tile takes two to three days because the mortar cures before grouting.

How soon can you come out to measure?

Most estimates are scheduled within a couple of days of your call. We measure, assess the subfloor, bring samples, and leave you with a written price rather than a verbal figure.
